The Fractional worker operates on a contract basis, typically outside of IR35 regulations, and invoices the client directly for services rendered. They engage with multiple clients, defining the scope and suggesting a time commitment (e.g., one day per week for six months) tailored to the client's needs. These professionals are self-sufficient, highly experienced, and business-savvy, able to integrate seamlessly into a client's team from day one. They work under clearly defined terms of business and will expect to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). They know how to run a business. Before they start, the engagement process will define the role, define the outputs and boundaries to be ready for building in the relationships from day one.
